Four independent candidates seeking office in Nebraska hope to connect with more voters at a forum at the Canteen Room of the Fox Theater, on Monday, June 1. The forum starts at 6 p.m.
Dan Osborn, running for U.S. Senate, Macey Budke and Mark Cohen, running for Third Nebraska Congressional District, and Shaylee Scranton, running for the Nebraska Unicameral, District 42, will be on hand.
Streya Agrawal, who is running for the ward 1 seat on the North Platte Board of Education will moderate the discussion.
As an industrial mechanic and union leader, Osborn directed the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union Local 50G. In 2024, he garnered 47% of the vote against Deb Fischer.
North Platte resident Macey Budke has lived in Nebraska since infancy. A behavioral health practice manager, she decided to run because of partisan gridlock in Washington.
Attorney Mark Cohen of Lemoyne served in the U.S. Air Force as a Judge Advocate General prosecutor. As a civilian, he has advocated for agriculture interests.
Shaylee Scranton of Thedford is a customer service representative and rancher.
